Central African Republic has been wracked by conflict since mainly Muslim rebels seized power in the majority Christian nation in March 2013. About 1 million people have fled their homes and thousands have died in the violence, the United Nations says. African Union peacekeepers are escorting convoys of Muslims to safety in neighbouring countries.
